Dr. Michael V. Leggiere, Deputy Director of the University of North Texas Military History Center (MHC), will open the evening by providing the history of the department. The MHC is the leading program of its type in the US today and an outstanding example of the depth of academic expertise at DFW-area universities.

The panel will examine the origins and conduct of the Ukraine War within the context of the relationship between Russia and China. It will assess how the war could affect relations between the two powers, which have become progressively closer under Presidents Putin and Xi over the past decade, and the implications for US security. The program will also highlight the capabilities of the University of North Texas Military History Center.
