About the Group:

Phi Alpha Theta is a prominent member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). We are a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of History through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among Historians. We seek to bring students, teachers and writers of History together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist Historical research and publication by our members in a variety of ways including conferences, scholarships, publication opportunities, and social events.

Requirements for Membership:

For undergraduates, the minimum GPA requirement is 3.0 overall with at least 12 hours of completed history classes.

For graduate students, the minimum GPA is 3.1 overall with at least a 3.5 in at least 12 hours of history and no grade lower than a B.

*Membership is not limited to majors and minors in history. Anyone who meets the requirements is invited to apply*
