Before beginning my studies at the University of North Texas, I earned my B.A. in History and Italian from the The University of Dallas. Following graduation, I spent time working as an assistant for my alma mater's study abroad program near Rome, Italy. While in Rome, I served as an assistant for both undergraduate and high school programs and had the opportunity to lecture at sites in Rome, Florence, Venice, and even parts of Greece. It was during this time that my interest in Italian history and passion for teaching deepened. Now as an M.A. student, I am examining the impact and experience of the Italian unification movement - or Risorgimento - with a special focus on Tuscany. I am a member of both Phi Beta Kappa and the Phi Alpha Theta honor societies.
