Dr. Laura Bier will be our guest speaker, and she will be lecturing on "Women in Egypt’s Three Revolutions: The Forces of History and the Prospects for the Future." Dr. Bier is an Assistant Professor in the School of History, Technology, and Society at Georgia Tech. She earned her PhD from New York University in History and Middle East Studies and has received a number of grants, including a Fulbright and a Fulbright-Hays for her research on gender and state socialism in Egypt. Dr. Bier is the author of Revolutionary Womanhood: Feminisms, Modernity and the State in Nasser’s Egypt.
